Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to explore Toledo, Spain.
The sight of the castle and old streets
The feeling of old stones from the city walls with my hands.
Hearing the sounds of feet walking across the cobblestone.
I find myself full of wonder.

I can only recount their experience through what is written in the history booksโฆ.
And yet, when I come across these answers, I immediately inquire about the influences that created themโฆ
For example, If the people of this land were healthy, happy, and loved by their king and queen, why?
What made this king and queen treat their people as people, vs other families of royalty?
What made them want to show more love and compassion for life, vs constricting and destroying it?

But I want to know more about the origins of the fear in those that cared, vs those that destroyed?
As it leaves me wondering about their experiences that led to the mind of the destroyer vs the creator.

And while Iโm not able to change the past, Iโm led to the next questionโฆ
IF the leaders of this kingdom were those that were filled with hate.
Filled with fearโฆ
What could have been differentโฆ
For the people
For the land
For the future of the country

And there may be many that believe that focusing on the concept that love conquers hate, is too idealistic and not pragmatic in natureโฆ
And thatโs okayโฆ
And completely understandable,
because without a change in actions,
without a change in intention,
we are just focusing on ideals that are great in theory, but change nothing.

My time spent in Toledo was enjoyable to say the least.
And, I loved that the historical sights led me to writing such a post, merely by just existing, and peeking my curiosity.
